Reflection Prompt: How has technology impacted or changed your classroom assessment and evaluation? Has your data collection methodology changed with technology? If technology has not impacted your assessment and evaluation, what would you like to change?

Description: Computer Based Technology is the new tool for Assessment & Evaluation. Standardized Test can now be performed on networked environments replacing the traditional test. Web interfaces allow teachers to grade at home and parents and students to look at academic progress reports at home. Nationwide Integrated Data Management Systems allow administrators and teachers to look at student assessments and evaluations, when students relocate.

Impact: The above mentioned technologies have been an asset to me in my profession as Librarian. Perhaps the biggest impact is in the way I do collection development. I rely on circulation data to make decisions on what to purchase for the library collection. The data also lets me know what part of my collection needs to be beefed up and what needs to be weeded. All these things help me to stay in budget and provide the resources needed for my building.

Intent: As a Technology Facilitator, I plan to devise Professional Learning Communities for my teachers. In these Professional Learning Communities, I will share technology tools they can use for productivity and professional development.

Let's explore some tools! Click on links below, and let's get started!

Rubistar -
"RubiStar is a tool to help the teacher who wants to use rubrics, but does not have the time to develop them from scratch."

Survey Monkey - "Create and publish online surveys in minutes, and view results graphically and in real time. SurveyMonkey provides free online questionnaire and survey." Sample survey I conducted to see how many IT Masters students were interested in learning about the Flipped Classroom.
